What is NMN?

Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN) is a naturally occurring body metabolite of niacin, or Vitamin B3. The NMN molecule, however, has a much more complex structure than niacin, because it is a combination of three compounds - nicotinic acid amide, ribose and phosphoric acid.

Due to the characteristic molecular structure, NMN is used in the organism as a precursor of NAD+, which is the basic fuel of the processes taking place inside the mitochondria, as well as a cofactor for important functional proteins, such as sirtuins or PARP involved in the regeneration and repair of DNA.

Therefore, nicotinamide mononucleotide has recently attracted more and more attention and is becoming one of the leading trends in the field of anti-aging, especially those related to the internal, cellular renewal of the body.

CLINICAL STUDY

Multicentre, randomized, double-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of NMN UTHEVER® in oral supplementation in middle-aged and older people

Course: The study was conducted on 66 healthy subjects aged 40 to 65 years who were instructed to take two capsules (each containing 150 mg of NMN or starch powder) once a day after breakfast for 60 days.

Results: On day 30, serum NAD + / NADH levels showed a significant increase, ie by 11.3%, while the placebo group showed no change. At the end of the study, day 60, NAD + / NADH levels increased further by 38% from baseline, compared to only 14.3% in the placebo group. At the end of the study, the mean insulin resistance index (HOMA IR) showed an increase of 0.6% in the Uthever® group and 30.6% in the placebo group from baseline.

Conclusions: The increase in NAD + / NADH levels at days 30 and 60 illustrated the potential of UTHEVER® to raise NAD + levels in cells, which is associated with higher energy levels and anti-aging performance. Increased insulin sensitivity has also been linked to anti-aging.
