Ingredients: calcium salt of butyric acid (calcium butyrate), matrix: certified fully hydrogenated palm oil without trans isomers, rapeseed lecithin, thickener: corn starch, bulking agent: corn fiber (resistant starch), microcrystalline cellulose.
Recommended daily dose necessary to obtain the beneficial effect of the product: 1 tablet twice a day (morning and evening). It is recommended to use the preparation for at least 3 months. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
The product cannot be used as a substitute for a varied diet.

The first dietary supplement on the market that allows you to enrich your diet with butyric acid without increasing sodium intake thanks to the use of salt calcium butyric acid instead of the commonly used butyrate. Calcium butyrate is less soluble in aqueous solutions than sodium butyrate, which, combined with the patented technology of encapsulation and suspension in a special matrix, makes its release longer and more controlled (it reaches the right place in the digestive system).
Butyric acid is one of the short chain fatty acids (SCFA) physiologically produced in the intestines in the process of fibre fermentation. Research on the occurrence and role of SCFA in the digestive system has been ongoing for over 40 years.
The largest share (~ 80%) in the SCFA present in the human digestive system are 3 types of acids: acetic, propionic and butyric acids, occurring in quite constant proportions: 60:25:15.
The share of butyric acid is the smallest, but it is the main source of energy for colonocytes (epithelial cells of the large intestine) and stimulates their growth and differentiation. Acetate and propionate are metabolized next - after butyrate is used.
The unique patented microPEARLS™ production technology ensures the effect of prolonged and controlled release of butyric acid in the digestive tract. Compared to unencapsulated calcium butyrate, Butishield is much more resistant to decomposition in the lower pH of the initial sections of the digestive system, and therefore a greater part of it reaches the large intestine where it is most needed.
In addition to the "targeted" release site in the gastrointestinal tract, ButiShield Calcium Butyrate production technology™ allows you to obtain more acceptable organoleptic characteristics (mainly smell) than typical sodium butyrate.
Aliness calcium butyrate has been additionally enriched with resistant starch, also known as corn fiber (NO GMO) or resistant dextrin - a fiber with prebiotic properties.
Resistant starch is a specially processed form of starch that is not digested in the upper digestive tract, so it reaches the large intestine to provide health benefits. Its production involves modifying the structure of starch, which gives it unique properties, such as higher resistance to digestion and the ability to ferment in the intestines. Additionally, it supports the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria such as L. plantarum, L. gasseri, L. helveticus, A. muciniphila, and has a low glycemic index.
Resistant starch increases the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs), including propionate, butyrate and acetate, which are crucial for the gut.
