What is Bacopa?
Bacopa monnieri (small-leaved bacopa), commonly known as Brahmi. It is a small, climbing herb from the plantain family. It occurs naturally worldwide in temperate to tropical climates. Its natural habitat is wetlands such as swamps and shallow bodies of water.
In addition to the appropriate dose, the concentration of bacosides as the active ingredient of bacopy is also important. The name brahmi comes from the word Brahma which translates to the mythical creator in Hindu mythology. According to Indian philosophy, the brain is considered the centre of creative activity, thus bacopa is rightly called brahmi as an ingredient that improves this ability. It's known in traditional Ayurvedic medicine for 5000 years.

Small-leaved bacopa extract is a source of many active substances, among which the most important are bacosides. It is a group of saponin compounds to which bacopa extracts are standardized. In addition, the extract of small-leaved bacopa also contains a number of other substances: polyphenols and flavonoids, phytosterols, tannins and terpenoids.
What is the standardization and origin of the extract?
Some supplements on the market are based on an extract that is low in bacosides. The extract contained in our product comes from a reputable Indian producer, Akay, and is characterized by high standardization for bacosides, amounting to 50%. This means that each capsule containing 500 mg of the extract contains as much as 250 mg of bacosides.
