What is the ground elderberry?
The Ground elder herb (Aegopodium podagraria L.) is a plant belonging to the celery family. Its native area of occurrence is Europe and Western Asia. The plant has a long history of use as a herbal ingredient, and owes its Polish name to the fact that it was once used as a traditional remedy for the treatment of gout.
The ground elder extract is a source of valuable phytonutrients such as: flavonoids, terpenes, carotenes (including provitamin A), organic acids, and valuable essential oils.
