Wild oregano oil is a rich source of Vitamin A and C, flavonoids and phenols, including carvacrol, which is a well-known aroma of oregano.

The carvacrol content depends on the plant chemotype, subspecies, but also the region, the quality of the harvest, the parts of the plant used and even the exact time of harvesting of the oregano.

The most popular are oregano oils with a carvacrol content of 60% -70%. Higher concentrations can only be achieved by using innovative rectification processes. Rectification also known as fractional distillation - from the physical point of view it is a cascade (multi-level) distillation in which each stage of the process is fed with the product (distillate) of the previous process. This process is repeated until the expected concentration is obtained.

Oils with the addition of synthetic carvacrol

There are also oils that are mixes of natural oregano oils along with synthetic carvacol derived from D-limonene. Synthetic oils have a different smell and taste different. Oils with oregano, present as a mixture of natural and synthetic carvacol, contain up to 35% natural and 65% synthetic carvacrol.

In addition to the difference in taste and smell, oregano oil containing an admixture of synthetic carvacrole is also poorer in valuable ingredients naturally occurring in the plant.

The product contains only natural carvacrol, and such a high concentration was obtained thanks to the use of only the rectification process, i.e. fractionation based on the relative volatility of the ingredients and thanks to the use of appropriate parts of the highest quality plants.

Rectification is a completely physical process, meaning no additional chemicals are used. The obtained oregano oil is free from residues of harmful solvents used in traditional solvent extractions.

Oregano oil contained in the capsules Wild Oregano Light Oil is dissolved in natural extra virgin olive oil. As a result, it is characterized by a mild taste, and the capsules are perfect for chewing, without the risk of irritation of the mouth and throat.

One capsule contains 14.3 mg of natural oregano oil (including 12.8 mg of natural carvacrol) and 255.7 mg of extra virgin olive oil.
